The JAM 2024 Examination is a Computer Based Test (CBT) where questions are presented randomly on a computer screen. The total duration of the examination is three hours, with eligible Persons with Disabilities (PwD) candidates having the option of one-hour compensatory time and the assistance of a scribe.

  • If candidates mistakenly input the wrong category or gender, they can correct it by paying a fee.
  • Additionally, if they want to switch to a different test paper, they can either add an extra test paper or change the existing one by accessing their previously submitted application on https://jam.iitm.ac.in. This adjustment must have been done before November 20, 2023.

IIT JAM 2024 Registration Process

To apply for JAM 2024, candidates should visit https://jam.iitm.ac.in between September 5 and October 20, 2023. First, they need to register on JOAPS (JAM Online Application Processing System) by giving their name, a valid email, an active mobile number, and a password. 

After successful registration, an Enrolment ID and OTP will be sent to their email and mobile. Candidates should use this Enrollment ID or email along with the password to apply. It’s important to keep the Enrolment ID and password confidential.

JOAPS offers an online platform for candidates to engage with the JAM 2024 Administration. Through this interface, candidates can:

  1. Apply for the exam online, including uploading their photo, signature, and necessary documents like certificates (for OBC-NCL/EWS/SC/ST/PwD).
  2. Pay the application fee using various electronic payment methods.
  3. Track the status of their application form, including stages like, under scrutiny, accepted, defect status, status after rectification, rejected with valid reasons, and when the admit card is ready for download.

  • Personal details like your name, email, date of birth, mobile number, parent’s/guardian’s name, and contact details.
  • Your communication address, including the PIN code.
  • Information about your eligibility degree.
  • Name, address, and PIN code of your College/Institute/University.
  • Choose the JAM paper(s) and examination cities.
  • Upload scanned copies of your 10th standard (SSC) mark sheet, a high-quality photograph, and a signature meeting the specified requirements.
