Why CUET?

The UGC and Ministry of Education have decided to conduct a centralized entrance test in 2022 for UG & PG admissions in central and many State, Deemed, and private universities. At present more than 250 universities in CUET UG & 142 Universities in CUET PG are participating.With the help of this exam, students no longer have to compete with the high cut-offs of various universities or colleges.

For appearing in the CUET (UG) – 2024- 
  • No age limit for CUET (UG) – 2024. However, they must fulfill the age criteria set by their desired university.
  • Candidates who passed class 12 in 2024 can apply.
  • Eligibility criteria may vary by University, check the respective website.
  • Ensure eligibility criteria are met before applying.
  • Merely appearing in the Entrance Test or passing marks are not enough for admission.
  • Candidate must fulfill Program-specific eligibility criteria of the desired University.
  • Central University Entrance Examination (CUET) is an all-India entrance examination conducted by NTA for admission to various UG & integrated courses such as B.Sc.; B.Tech; BCA; BA; Integrated B.Sc. Hons. MSc; B.Voc.; BA (Hons); B.Com (Hons); BPA; etc. offered in all participating institutions. Candidates are advised to go through the list of CUET 2024 courses available on the official website before applying. They should also take a look at the eligibility criteria for the CUET 2024 courses as the eligibility conditions vary across institutes and courses
    NTA will conduct the CUET exam in 13 languages ​​(Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Gujarati, Odia, Bengali, Assamese, Punjabi, English, Hindi, and Urdu). Check the Exam Pattern for CUET 2024 here.

  • Language: Language to be tested through Reading Comprehension (based on different types of passages–Factual, Literary, and Narrative), Literary Aptitude, and Vocabulary

  • General Test: General Knowledge, Current Affairs, General Mental Ability, Numerical Ability, Quantitative Reasoning (Simple application of basic mathematical concepts arithmetic/algebra geometry/mensuration/statistics), Logical and Analytical Reasoning
  • CUET 2024 cutoff will be published by the participating institutes separately on cuet.samarth.ac.in. Candidates must achieve minimum marks to secure admission. Cutoffs may vary by program, university, and candidate category. To calculate the likely score, students can follow these steps. To begin with, they must carry the CUET 2024 Answer Key with them.
  • Check the answers marked by the candidate for each question
  • Match them with the correct answer from the CUET 2024 Answer Key
  • Add 5 marks for each correct answer
  • Deduct 1 mark for each wrong answer
  • Now calculate your total score and compare it with the previous year’s CUET cut-off score

    CUET PG Syllabus 2024 will be made available online by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Candidates intending to appear in the CUET PG Entrance Exam must go through the entire CUET PG Syllabus 2024 to ensure they are well prepared. Candidates can get an idea about the subjects and topics that will be asked in the entrance exam by reading the CUET PG Syllabus 2024.

    Common University Entrance Test (CUET) 2024 is an entrance test for admission into UG/PG programs in Central and participation Universities. The CUET provides a common platform and equal opportunities to candidates nationwide. Many State Universities, Deemed Universities, Private Universities, and Other Universities also participate in the CUET college allotment process
    For appearing in the CUET UG and PG, there is no age limit for the candidates. However, the candidates will be required to fulfill the age criteria (if any) of the University / Institution / Organization to which they are desirous of taking admission.
    For UG level, the candidates must have passed class 12th or equivalent examination from a recognized board or university. For CUET PG level, candidates must have passed the bachelor’s degree/equivalent examination. However, candidates must keep in mind the different eligibility parameters set by the universities to which they wish to apply for admission.
    The CUET UG and PG will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode only. The CUET (UG) will be conducted in English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. The CUET (PG) will be conducted in English and Hindi (Bilingual) except for language and Sahitya papers.
    In CUET UG, the question paper is divided into three sections, Section 1 Languages (1A and 1B), Section 2 Domain, and Section 3 General Test. In Section 1, 40 questions are to be attempted out of 50 in each language. In Section 2, 35/40 questions are to be attempted out of 45/50. In Section 3, 50 questions are to be attempted out of 60.
    For CUET UG, every correct answer will be awarded +5 marks, wrong answers with -1 mark, and not attempted questions with 0 marks. On the other hand, for CUET PG, every correct answer will be awarded +4 marks, wrong answers with -1 mark, and not attempted questions with 0 marks.
    For CUET UG, the examination will be conducted on multiple days in three shifts, depending on the number of candidates and Subject choices. Similarly, for CUET PG, the exam is divided into 2 slots of 2 hours each.
    For CUET UG, seats are reserved for GEN-EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, ST, and PwD categories. For more details, kindly check the information bulletin uploaded by NTA. While, for PG, 10% of the seats in every course are reserved for the general category belonging to Economically Weaker Sections (GEN-EWS). 27% of the seats in every course are reserved for Other Backward Classes belonging to the Non-Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL). 15% and 7.5% of seats are reserved for Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) in every course respectively. 5% of the seats are reserved for People with Disabilities (PwD) in each of the GENERAL, GEN-EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, and ST category seats.
    After receiving the exam result, one needs to register for the universities on the official website which they have selected while filing out the CUET entrance exam form. A minimum charge is required for registration which may vary from university to university. Then, the candidate has to select the college and course combination based on their preference. After being eligible for the selected college and course, one needs to apply for admission into the college and pay the required fees for admission confirmation.
