Rayyan Asharin faced two significant challenges when selecting subjects for grade 11. Firstly, he lacked exposure to various career streams, hindering his decision-making process.

Rayyan joined us during 11th grade as a promising student from Saudi Arabia, showing a keen interest in computer science engineering. Despite his focus, he expressed curiosity about mechanical engineering. With the guidance of our iDC mentors, Rayyan secured an internship at Yamaha, where he delved into the field and found his passion.
Following the internship, we assisted Rayyan in applying to various Canadian universities for mechanical engineering programs, which became his aspiration. He received acceptance letters from over 7 universities, including the University of Toronto, the University of British Columbia, and the University of Alberta, with combined scholarships totaling $26,000. After careful consideration, Rayyan enthusiastically chose to pursue his studies at UBC, where he is now thriving and content.
