NEET 2023 Eligibility Criteria

Nationality
- Indian citizens, NRI, OCI, PIO candidates, and foreign nationals are eligible to apply.
- Students of UTs J&K and Ladakh are eligible to apply under 15% All India Quota only on a self-declaration basis.
Age Criteria
- Applicant must be 17 years of age at the time of admission or by December 31 of the year of admission.
- There will be no upper age limit for applying for NEET.
Education Qualification
- Minimum Qualification: Candidates should have passed 12th or equivalent from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as main subjects.
- Required Marks: The NEET Eligibility Marks in Class 12 are the aggregate marks for PCB subjects.
- The 12th class percentage required for NEET 2023 is different for each category as shown below:
- UR – 50%
- OBC / SC / ST – 40%
- Disabled – 45%
- Number of Attempts: No Limit
- Appearing: Candidates appearing for the 12th class exams in 2023 are also eligible to apply for NEET.
- Foreign Nationals: Students educated abroad and planning to join medical colleges in India must have passed 12th in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English with 50% marks obtained by AIU as per MCI rules.
NEET Application Process 2023
The NEET UG 2023 application form is likely to be released in the first week of March 2023 and the process should be completed online. The last date to fill and submit the NEET 2023 application form is likely to be scheduled in the first week of April. The NTA will also provide an application adjustment window approximately in the second week of April in which candidates can make the necessary changes in the specified fields. However, the option to correct the application will be available only to those candidates who would have completed the process by paying the fee.
Here is the application process for NEET 2023:
- Candidates who want to apply for the exam must fill out the application form from December 2022 onwards.
- Once the application opens, you have to fill the application form with correct details like name, address, etc.
- After filling out the form, click “Next” and upload the scanned copies of the required documents.
- Candidates must submit the application form before the last week of December 2023.
- Pay the application fee using a Debit/Credit Card, UPI, Net Banking, etc.
- Download, save and print a copy of the application form confirmation page for future reference.

NEET 2023 Exam Date: FAQs
The National Testing Agency will conduct the NEET UG 2023 exam on May 7, 2023.
Although NTA and the Ministry of Education have mulled over the idea of conducting NEET twice a year, it has not been implemented yet. NEET 2023 will also be conducted once a year as per the announced date.
The cut-off marks for NEET 2022 are 50% marks for the general category, 45% marks for PH candidates and 40% marks for reserved category candidates.
