NMAT Exam Overview

NMAT is a 120-minute computer-based exam consisting of 108 questions divided among 3 sections. They are namely, Language Skills, Quantitative Skills, and Logical Reasoning. Each question carries 1 mark, and there is no negative marking. The exam score is converted into a percentile score and is valid for a year. 

NMAT Eligibility

A bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks from a recognized university. There is no upper age limit to the exam. Candidates can take the NMAT by GMAC up to three times. However, the best of all three scores will be used for admission.

• For admission, the student has to visit the NMIMS website and fill out the application form, entering your NMAT registration number. NMIMS shortlists candidates based on their NMAT scores who are invited for a case discussion and personal interview making the way to the final procedure.

Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar

Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB) accepts NMAT scores for admission to some of its programs as listed below:

• MBA in Human Resource Management (XaHR)
• MBA in Rural Management (XSRM)
• MBA in Sustainability Management (XSSM)

The application fee for XIMB is INR 1,700 and the course fee is INR 20 lakhs for 2 years. The final selection will be based on the NMAT score, interview performance, and academic records of the candidates.

T.A. Pai Management Institute (TAPMI), Manipal

The T.A. Pai Management Institute (TAPMI) in Manipal offers various MBA programs, including specializations in Banking and Financial Services, Human Resource Management, Marketing, and International Business. It accepts exams such as CAT, XAT, NMAT, or GMAT for the same.

The tuition fee for the MBA program is approximately INR 17.34 lakhs but other expenses can lead to a hike. The final selection of candidates is based on the entrance test scores, academic performance, and GD/PI performance. 

K J Somaiya Institute of Management, Mumbai

To get admission to the K J Somaiya Institute of Management, Mumbai through the NMAT exam, the candidates are required to complete the online application form on the K J Somaiya website prior to attempting the NMAT exam. The application fee for K J Somaiya is INR 2,600. 

The tuition fee for the MBA program is approximately INR 20.87 lakhs for the entire two-year program. 

Indian School of Business, Hyderabad

Students must note that admission to ISB Hyderabad through the NMAT Exam is possible for the Advanced Management Programme in Business Analytics (AMPBA). The Advanced Management Programme in Business Analytics (AMPBA) at ISB is designed for professionals to learn the essentials of business analytics and data science. The eligibility criteria for the same are as follows:

1. Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Technology, Statistics, Mathematics, Science.
2. 2 years of full-time work experience.

The tuition fee for the PGP program is approximately ₹10.85 Lakh for 15 months. 

Great Lakes Institute of Management

For admission to the Great Lakes Institute of Management through the NMAT exam, candidates have to complete the online application form on the Great Lakes website. The application fee for Great Lakes is INR 2,000.

The final selection will be based on your NMAT score, GD/PI performance, and academic records. The tuition fee for the MBA program is approximately INR 12.35 lakhs for the entire two-year program. 

SDA Bocconi Asia Center, Mumbai

Candidates can get admission to the SDA Bocconi Asia Center, through the NMAT exam. The students can pursue an International Master in Business (IMB) which has a fee of approximately INR 20.75 lakhs for the entire program.

They have to complete the online application form on the SDA Bocconi Asia Center website. The application fee is INR 3,500 for the same. Candidates are then shortlisted based on their NMAT scores, academic performance, and other criteria.

ICFAI Business School (IBS)

To gain admission to the ICFAI Business School (IBS) through the NMAT exam, candidates are required to complete the online application form on the IBS website prior to the exam. The application fee for IBS is INR 1,800. 

The tuition fee for the MBA program at IBS Hyderabad is approximately INR 17.01 lakhs for the entire two-year program.

For other campuses like IBS Bangalore, IBS Ahmedabad, IBS Gurgaon, IBS Kolkata, IBS Mumbai, IBS Pune, and IBS Jaipur, the tuition fee can range from INR 8.01 lakhs to INR 13.05 lakhs for the entire two-year program.
