- Bachelor’s Degree: Bachelor’s degree holders can apply for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) only, not for Lectureship (LS)/Assistant Professor roles. BE/BS/BTech/BPharma/MBBS final year/result-awaiting candidates qualify for JRF. BSc (Hons.) final year/result-awaited candidates are not eligible.

- PhD degree holders with a master’s before September 19, 1991, and 50% marks are eligible for lectureship only.

- Qualifications must have at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PWD candidates). Accepted qualifications include MSc, Integrated BS-MS, BS (4 years), BE, BTech, BPharma, and MBBS.
CSIR NET 2024 Age Limit
- CSIR JRF Age Limit: The upper age limit is 28 years, with relaxations of 5 years for SC/ST/Third gender/PwD/females and 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer).
- Lectureship (LS)/ Assistant Professor: No upper age limit for candidates applying for CSIR NET lectureship.
