NATA Exam 2024: Know Important Dates, Eligibility, Admission Procedure, Application Fees, & Much More

NATA Exam 2024

The National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) has been a crucial assessment tool since 2006, governed by the Council of Architecture (COA) by architectural education regulations. COA’s regulations have evolved over the years, with the latest being the Council of Architecture (Minimum Standards of Architectural Education) Regulations, 2020, effective from November 1, 2020. These regulations mandate that aspiring architecture students must qualify for the NATA exam 2024, which assesses their innate aptitude for the field.

NATA stands out from other entrance exams because it evaluates a candidate’s natural abilities, which cannot be easily taught or induced. It covers cognitive skills, visual perception, aesthetic sensitivity, logical reasoning, and critical thinking. NATA ensures adherence to the eligibility criteria for the five-year Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) degree course nationwide. To provide more opportunities, NATA-2024 will be conducted three times in the academic session 2023-2024. Candidates can take up to three tests, and their best scores will be considered.

This approach aims to attract bright talents into the field of architecture, ensuring that only the most qualified candidates gain admission to B.Arch. programs across the country.

Eligibility Requirements for NATA

Let’s delve into the essential eligibility requirements:

  • Qualification requirement: Candidates must have passed the 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board or university.
  • Compulsory subject: Candidates should have studied Mathematics as a compulsory subject in the 10+2 or equivalent examination.
  • Minimum marks: Candidates must have obtained a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in their 10+2 or equivalent examination. Additionally, they must have secured a minimum of 50% marks in Mathematics individually.
  • Age limit: There is no specific age limit to appear for NATA. Candidates currently in their 10+2 or 10+3 level of education are also eligible to apply for the NATA exam.
