Career as a Conservation Scientist
Conservation scientists manage, improve, and protect Earth’s natural resources to maximize their use without damaging the environment. They manage the overall land quality of forests, parks, range lands, and other natural resources such as soil, water, wildlife, forests, watersheds, energy, marine ecosystems etc. Watersheds are areas of land that contain sets of streams & rivers that all drain into a single larger body of water, such as a larger river, a lake or an ocean. Conservation Scientists may work with all levels of government to devise ways to use & improve existing conditions while safeguarding the environment. They advise farmers and other agricultural production managers on how they can improve their land for agricultural purposes or control erosion.
