VITEEE 2016 is the qualifying entrance examination conducted by the Vellore Institute of Technology for admission in engineering undergraduate courses for the session 2016-17. VIT Engineering Entrance Examination 2016 will be held from 6th April to 17th April, 2016 in various cities across India for providing admissions to B.Tech programmes.


VITEEE 2016 Eligibility Criteria:

  • Nationality - The applicant should be a Resident / Non Resident Indian National.
  • Educational Qualification - Candidates must have completed 10+2 conducted by State board, CBSE New Delhi, ISCE New Delhi or Intermediate examination conducted by a recognized board/University or High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma or Advanced (A) level General Certificate Education (GCE) examination. ‘NIOS’ candidates are also eligible to appear for the VITEEE 2016.
  • Minimum Percentage - The applicant must have secured an aggregate of 60% in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics / Biology in the higher secondary level. For SC/ST and candidates from Northeast 50% is the minimum requirement.
  • Age Limit - Candidates whose date of birth falls on or after 1st July 1994 are eligible to apply for VITEEE-2016


VITEEE 2016 Exam Pattern:

VITEEE 2016 will be held in online mode as it is the Computer Based Test (CBT). The duration of this entrance examination will be 2 hours 30 minutes.

The exam will be conducted in 3 sessions on each day. Exam timings:

Session 1: 9:00 am to 11:30 am

Session 2: 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm

Session 3: 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm

  • All Questions will be of Objective type.
  • There are 4 parts - Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics / Biology and English. Each part has 40 questions and English has 5 questions.
  • Each question carries one mark, making 125 questions in totality.
  • Candidates may note that there is no negative marking


VITEEE 2016 Application Procedure & Application Fees:

Eligible candidates can fill the application online or through offline (OMR) forms.  

  • Online application form is available from 27th November 2015.  The application fee for online mode is INR 960. The modes of payment available are Internet Banking facility through Net banking / Debit card / Credit card / And Demand Draft Mode.
  • In Offline mode candidates can purchase the application from the university counter or buy the application form from designated post offices. The application fee for Offline mode is INR 990.
