NTA released NEET UG Results 2022 on 7th September 2022 for more than 16 lakh candidates. Along with the result, NTA has also released the category-wise cutoff for NEET UG 2022.
The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) NEET UG, formerly known as the AIPMT, is an all-India pre-medical entrance test for pursuing undergraduate medical courses (MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BSMS, BUMS, & BHMS courses).

Highlights of NEET UG result 2022
- A total of 18,72,341 candidates registered for the undergraduate entrance exam, of which 16,14,777 entrants appeared for the NEET UG 2022 examination, which was conducted at 3,750 centers across the country.
- According to NEET 2022, about 91,927 MBBS, 27,698 BDS, 52,720 AYSH, and 603 BVSc and AH seats will be offered in 612 medical and 317 dental colleges.

How to check NEET Entrance exam result?
The result has been announced yesterday. Candidates need to follow the following steps to check their NEET UG Result. It is advised to keep a regular check on the official website for NEET UG Result 2022 live updates.

NEET 2022 scorecards
The NEET UG 2022 Scoreboard will show the candidate’s personal details, subject marks, total marks, rank, and All India Quota (AIQ) percentile. Along with the results, NTA will also release the NEET 2022 final answer key on the official website. The final answer key released by NTA for NEET 2022 will be available in PDF format and cannot be contested.
This year the biggest medical UG entrance exam was conducted on 17th July 2022 in pen and paper mode.
How to calculate NEET percentile?
Students can calculate through the following 2 ways
- NEET percentile = your NEET score * 100 / topper’s NEET score
- NEET percentile = [(total number of candidates appeared in NEET rank) / total no. of appearing candidates] x 100
Although the second method is a bit difficult.
Types of Merit List
Following are the 3 types of merit lists for NEET UG result 2022:
- General Merit List: This merit list includes the names and ranks of all the candidates who appeared in NEET 2022. This is the first merit list prepared by NTA. This merit list will be sent to all counseling bodies, both national and state.
- 15 Percent AIQ Merit List: This merit list will contain the names of only those candidates who qualify the NEET 2022. This merit list is prepared by the Medical Consultative Committee (MCC).
- State Quota Merit List: Each state will prepare its individual merit lists for admission to 85 percent of state quota seats. These merit lists will include only those candidates who qualify the NEET Result 2022 and register for the respective state counseling.

NEET Result 2022 Validity
The NEET 2022 results will be valid for one year or the current academic season 2022-2023. However, the MCI (Medical Council of India) has made an official announcement to extend the validity of NEET to three years for admissions in foreign colleges due to the possibility that the admission process in international schools will take longer.
